The Dukati folkloric dance group continues a proud and vibrant tradition of Croatian culture in Brisbane. The ensemble carries on the legacy of its predecessor, HFS Croatia, which was established over 50 years ago. HFS Croatia became one of the most esteemed folk groups in the nation, earning renown in both Croatian and broader Australian communities for its exceptional performances. The group's talent was showcased on major platforms, including the world stage at World Expo 88 and in various televised programs.
In the early 2000s, the spirit of this cultural legacy was reborn with the establishment of HFS Dukati Brisbane in 2002. Based at the Croatian Club in Rocklea, Dukati remains dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich tapestry of Croatian folk dance, music, and song. The group welcomes participants of all ages—dancers, singers, and instrumentalists—who wish to learn and perform traditional Croatian cultural arts.
Throughout the year, Dukati performs at numerous community events and festivals, bringing the colour, energy, and spirit of Croatian heritage to audiences across the region. The group offers a welcoming environment for both experienced performers and newcomers, serving as a vital link to the traditions of the past while fostering a strong community for the future.
